Denver, Colo. – June 10th, 2016 – On Thursday June 16th at 5pm Crooked Stave will be releasing 2 very special musical collaboration beers with The Motet in celebration of their new album Totem and headlining show at Red Rocks on July 22nd! This special release will take place at Crooked Stave’s taproom located at 3350 Brighton Blvd.
“This our first musical collaboration and we are excited to be able to do it with a band we have watched perform many times” says Danny Oberle, Head Brewer at Crooked Stave. “The beers we brewed for special release spread the spectrum and showcase creativity and collaboration.” Crooked Stave is happy to introduce the following beers which will be available during the summer leading up to the Red Rocks show.
Damn! IPA – This beer showcases hops piled on top of more hops. Created with live music and summer festivals in mind, this IPA tickles the pallet with citrus, tropical fruit and just a little bit of dank hop aromas packed into a refreshing 6.0% abv beer. This beer is a draft only release. Listen to the song here.
Totem Wild Ale – We added an additional layer onto our collaboration with The Motet through blending a few projects we’ve had aging in our Barrel Cellar. Totem embraces the barrels we hold sacred to our brewery. Stacked to the ceiling, they elevate the natural wild beers we brew. This limited edition bottling will only be available through Summer 2016.
You can’t fake the funk, and The Motet bring it on hard with a signature style that slaps you in the face with sounds that are fresh and unique. The future of funk is clear on The Motet’s brand new studio album, Totem. The recent addition of singer Lyle Divinsky, who joined the band in early 2016, fans the flames of this already hot band. The Motet are Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keyboards), Garrett Sayers (bass), Ryan Jalbert (guitar), Gabriel Mervine (trumpet), Lyle Divinsky (vocals), Drew Sayers (saxophone).
Crooked Stave is the culmination of “Founder and Brettanomyces Guru” Chad Yakobson’s open source Master’s research, The Brettanomyces Project. Crooked Stave’s progressive approach to brewing blends science and art through creativity and passion. The artistic creations, all of which use Brettanomyces yeast and mature in oak, result in beers of extraordinary complexity.
