Drink Local: September 30-October 6

October is officially starting this week! Where has this year gone? Celebrate the best month (in my humble opinion) with special beer releases, charity pint nights, games and music all around town this week. Highlights include the sour cherry release at Bristol, a Swedish Fish cream ale at Gold Camp, and two beers from Local Relic: A barrel-aged sazerac stout and a hoppy saison collab with (and at) Lost Friend. Don’t miss the release of FH Beerworks’ coveted Peach-O Sour (on tap and in cans) at their East location on Thursday. On Saturday, Local Relic is hosting their monthly beer dinner, or head up to Paradox for their 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off. To ride off those beer-based calories, join Cerberus on their Ale Trail from to Lost Friend on Sunday.

As you’re probably well aware, the much-anticipated Great American Beer Festival is in Denver this weekend. Can’t make it? No worries, there are some GABF-related events in town! On Tuesday, Trails End Taphouse is tapping several special beers that are only in town because of GABF! Red Leg is celebrating with beer and crowler specials, bingo, tacos and three new beers or firkins throughout this week. Cerberus is releasing their “Josh” collaboration IPA, One Josh Short of a Six Pack on Friday.

If you’re a foodie, don’t forget that Pikes Peak Restaurant Week is September 27-October 7 . Colorado Mountain Brewery is offering a four-course meal (with a house beer) every day for $30. The Public House is offering a black angus beef burger plus a pint of your choice for $15 through the 6th.
