Drink Local: Bristol Giving away Crowlers, Lots of Ugly Sweaters and More

It’s an event-filled week for the Colorado Springs craft beer community.

It’s been a busy few weeks for us here at Focus on the Beer…and not enough beer drinking! There’s quite a few great events coming up this week, so get out there and spread some holiday cheers. Pun intended.

Ongoing

Bristol Brewing’s Warm Clothes Drive

In partnership with Springs Rescue Mission, Bristol Brewing is collecting jackets, gloves, socks, and hand warmers for those who can use some help battling the elements this winter season.

To show you their thanks, Bristol giving away a limited release of Crowlers (32oz. cans of to-go beer) filled with this year’s spiced Christmas Ale to those who donate.

Here’s the rundown:

  • For every item you donate, you’ll be entered into the giveaway. You can enter more than once by donating more than one item!
  • An item could be a jacket, a pair of gloves, a pair of socks, or a pack of hand warmers.
  • Bristol will take your donations at the Bristol Dry Goods Store now through Thursday, December 14th.

BONUS: When you bring in your donation you’ll immediately receive 10% off any purchase you make in the Dry Goods Store that day — including packaged beer & kegs!

On Friday, December 15th, Bristol will take your donated items to Springs Rescue Mission. Bristol will also contact the winners of the Christmas Ale crowlers to invite you to come pick them up.

Cerberus Brewing’s NYE Beer Pairing Dinner

Join Cerberus Brewing Company and ring in the New Year! Celebrate with a 3 Course Dinner and Beer Pairing presented by their Executive Chef, Mark LeFebvre, and Head Brewer, Josh Adamski.

Tickets are $115 (tax and tip included) per person! Limited seating available, starting at 5:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased by calling (719) 636-BEER (2337).

Monday

Sap Tap: S’mores Porter | Peaks N Pines Brewing | 5:30pm

This week’s Sap Tap is a S’mores Porter! This 6% ABV porter tastes like chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and graham cracker in a glass! Scott combined the flavors of a sweet porter and campfire s’more by brewing it with a blend of maris otter, chocolate, and roasted/smoked malts and conditioned with chocolate and vanilla… The results are a decadent beer with the flavor of milk-chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and graham cracker. Just like the real thing!

Remember; Sap Taps are served at 5:30 PM in half pints and will go quickly!

Secondhand Lager Release | Cerberus Brewing

Secondhand Lager is a German Rauchbier brewed with Cherrywood smoked malt that comes in around 6.2%ABV. If you like smoke beers like we do, it’s certain to be delicious.

Kunda Baltic Porter Release | Fossil Craft Beer | 2pm

Fossil’s Baltic Porter is back! They have just a small amount this time around, (Fossil put most of it in a brandy barrel for next year…), so go grab a pint before it’s gone!

Tuesday

New Menu Launch & Keg Sales Start | Cerberus Brewing

Options for kegs: Elysium IPA, Udderly Ridiculous Milk Chocolate Stout and Batch 150. Check Cerberus’ Facebook for prices and availability.

Gluten Free Cranberry Apple and Live Music | Gold Camp Brewing | 4pm

This Experimental Brewsday Tuesday, go try Gold Camp’s first ever gluten free beer and let them know what you think!

Wednesday

Firkin Wednesday | Cerberus Brewing

Udderly Ridiculous Milk Chocolate Stout with Mint and Vanilla.

Test Tap Wednesday: Cookies & Cream Imperial Stout | Fieldhouse Brewing | 5pm

Week two of Ice Cream Month!! Cookies & Cream Imperial Milk Stout. It’s going to be delicious, roasty, creamy and all that you’ve ever dreamed of!

Thursday

Holiday Sweater Party & Platt Park Tap Takeover | Trails End Taproom | 6pm

Wear your best worst sweaters and head to Trails End Taproom for a holiday celebration! This will be a Colorado Springs tap release party for Denver-based Platt Park Brewing Company, showcasing a variety of their craft brews, and is also an Indy Give! event featuring Give! nonprofits Rocky Mountain Field Institute and Pikes Peak Climber’s Alliance!

Attendees who donate at the event to either nonprofit through Give! will be entered to win awesome door prizes. Prizes will also be awarded to the wearers of some of the best sweaters in the house, so get festive and rock that thing!

Iron Bird PINight | Iron Bird Brewing | 4pm

Iron Bird will be slinging $3 pints of a Cask Conditioned Irish Red Ale!

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout Release | Bristol Brewing | 6pm

Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is soft yet rich, dark as midnight, and aged in bourbon barrels for months. This is a fireside warmer if we’ve ever tasted one! Tones of dark chocolate, smoke, and molasses lead the flavor profile, but this is a complex beer that offers a multitude of deep flavors to explore. A high-ABV beer that invites you to slow down, sip, and contemplate life’s bigger questions.

Friday

Log Cabin Romance Release | Cerberus Brewing

Log Cabin Romance is a smoked porter with coffee and maple syrup.

Thaison, Naked Bière de Miel Release | Trinity Brewing | 5pm

Grist: Barley, Oats +Rye, 35 IBUs of Styrian + Saaz, No Spices, brewed with Local Black Forest Honey, Free-Rise Fermentation with Proprietary Yeast

Avery and Odell Tap Takeover | Brewer’s Republic | 6pm

Three beers from each brewery will be on tap, and the Avery and Odell Reps will be here, giving away swag and raffling off a pair of tickets to Monarch Mountain! The rules are simple – drink Avery & Odell, and get a chance to win.

Treacle Biscuit Wee Heavy, Gretchen’s Scottish Style Wee Heavy brewed with Molasses Cookies

Baby It’s Cold Outside, Bonita’s hot chocolate dry Irish stout with cocoa nibs, a little cayenne pepper and vanilla.

Partridge in a Pear Tree, Madisen’s caramelized pear saison.

Thunderstroke Barleywine, a very high gravity sweet English ale aged all year in a Heaven Hill bourbon barrel.

Ugly Sweater Party | Jailhouse Craft Beer Bar | 4pm

On Saturday, December 16th the Jailhouse is throwing their second annual Ugly Sweater Party at The Jailhouse! Don your best holiday sweater (or outfit), drink Christmas themed beers and let Kellyanne Conway Stole My Bike (7-9 p.m.) serenade you!

BEERunch | Red Leg Brewing | 11am

Join Red Leg Brewing and The Rolling Diner Sundays for beer and brunch… BEERunch! $8 for a pint of your choosing, 2 eggs, and 2 pancakes! *pancake flavor will change weekly*
